Job Responsibilities:



  • Champion the organizational Mission, Vision, and Values to inspire and create an engaged workforce with a strong emphasis on Safety. Drive Frontline Obsession towards frontline employees, to promote positive cultural change that engages, recognizes, and rewards.
  • Support the overall organizational strategy by developing and delivering operational plans and outcomes for the Hartford production facility to position the business to compete in a global manufacturing environment. Oversee manufacturing shared services, production, and manufacturing engineering and Automation.
  • Develop and gain agreement to annual business plans for the site and assure alignment of Business Segments, ensuring alignment with strategy; quantifying business outcomes (i.e., revenues or other key performance indicators); detailing expense and headcount budgets; and developing business cases for key projects, ensuring cross-functional integration.
  • Lead the long-term plant operational strategy, effectively managing working capital and capital expenditure projects. Oversee the successful introduction of new products into manufacturing.
  • Execute a consistent and effective communication strategy within the Hartford facility and its relationship to the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values. Support and motivate leaders to implement within their teams and ensure accountability to achieve the organization's business goals.
  • Ensure organizational Environmental Health & Safety policies and procedures are upheld to protect the well-being of all while safeguarding the environment and minimizing business risk.
  • Develop monthly and annual production plans for Hartford Operations business with dependencies on other processes/units to include resource planning and monitoring and reporting on performance against the plan. Provide input to the overall production planning framework and systems.
  • Initiate, formulate, and implement new manufacturing methods and processes while managing the development and/or delivery of a significant element of Broan-NuTone's manufacturing continuous improvement program. Strong emphasis on COGs through cost control, production efficiencies, automation, quality performance and asset utilization.
  • Execute LEAN manufacturing techniques and design.
  • Optimize workflow and cell designs and introduce cost-effective automation for productivity and safety advantages.
  • Communicate Lean group's philosophy, vision, and expectations.
  • Develop measurement systems supporting lean manufacturing philosophy.
  • Direct the planning and utilization of lean tools to improve all areas of the operation. Ensure day-to-day execution through MDI and SQDCI methodologies.
  • Develop and manages operational budget plan for Hartford operations.
  • Manage and report on the performance of the function/business area; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and ensure accountability, take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to develop and maintain an engaged, productive workforce by creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development.
  • Evaluate the capabilities of staff within the department to identify gaps and prioritize development activities. Implement the organization's formal development frameworks within the area of responsibility. Coach and mentor others to support the development of the organization's talent and succession pool.
  • Establish internal communication cadence to ensure team members receive timely business updates and information. Interact regularly with executive team and peers to ensure that organization priorities are aligned with company goals.


Job Requirements:



  • BS degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management, or relevant field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years' proven and relevant business experience in Manufacturing, Operations, and Logistics/Distribution experience.
  • Experience in interpreting strategy and policy to set and deliver objectives within medium to long time frames (Over 10 years to 15 years).
  • Leadership of a large, multifaceted manufacturing operation that includes metal fabrication and a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional people leader with and previous track record of acting as a change agent and inspirational leader capable of driving cultural change.
  • Exposure to the implementation and execution of manual assembly and automated manufacturing assembly operations.
  • Solid understanding of best manufacturing practices and continuous improvement using SQDCI and Managing for Daily Improvements (MDI) methodologies.
  • Proven background in the implementation of continuous improvement and Lean philosophies to improve the business.
  • Exposure to the introduction of new products in an ongoing production environment.
  • Solid understanding of industry leading EHS practices.
  • Experience in ISO9001:2015 implementation and management.
  • Oversite of the purchase and ROI analysis of fabrication and manufacturing capital equipment.
  • Ability to develop an organizational-wide customer focus.
  • Proven leadership skills with a background in developing collaborative and engaged high-performing teams.
  • Can-do attitude with the ability to drive a sense of urgency through the organization.
