This is a hybrid role that would require commuting to our Hartford, WI headquarters multiple times a week.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Develop short and long-range strategic plans for assigned category, including category growth strategies (both organic and inorganic), product portfolio roadmap and profitability expectations, and present to management.
  • Deliver business results for assigned category, monitor performance, recommend, and implement course correction actions, as needed. Build KPI's for key product programs and associated measurement approaches to gauge success during the year.
  • Provide leadership guidance of Product Lifecycle Management of assigned categories to Assistant / Associate and/or Product Manager(s) .
  • Establish the strategy for product marketing and approve new product "go to market" plan, digital marketing, market research, business intelligence, trade shows, advertising, promotional, merchandising, public relations, and marketing communications recommendations as it relates to category. Provide ROI justification for product marketing programs.
  • Design and implement voice of customer systems to understand customer and consumer feedback, and track continuous improvement metrics to fuel ideation, validation, and verification of product strategy.
  • Lead and manage Assistant / Associate and/or Product Manager(s) and/or execute for the approval of the marketing requirements and business case justification for new product development scopes incorporating market dynamics, performance and competitive differentiating features, pricing, voice of customer, forecast and cross-functional team input, where needed.
  • Create and present product training programs internally and externally to key customers related to the assigned categories.
  • Lead and manage Assistant / Associate and/or Product Manager(s) and/or execute as the subject matter expert on assigned category to create product content and recommendations in support of key account management, line reviews, new account development both in person and with content as needed.
  • Lead and manage Assistant / Associate and/or Product Manager(s) and/or recommend the pricing structure for the assigned categories.
  • Ensure that the new products are successfully managed and launched within the Stage-Gate process on time, on budget, and in scope in conjunction with the assigned Project Manager. Lead or provide marketing representation to cross functional new product development teams as assigned.
  • Provide product input for annual marketing strategies, budgets, and plans and overarching brand and channel strategies; approve product marketing components of plan.
  • Lead and manage Assistant / Associate and/or Product Manager(s) and/or maintain continual surveillance and evaluation of competitors' products/programs, market and industry trends. Trends such as demand drivers, product, design, technology, and pricing. Develop data into business recommendations and strategies.
  • Assist the GM - assigned Business Segment, Marketing or Engineering Directors and other cross-functional teams in developing and executing other key projects, as needed.


Job Requirements:



  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or mechanical/electrical or industrial engineering. An MBA from a reputable business school is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product management and new product development in consumer durables, commercial goods, or consumer packaged goods. Experience with technology-driven products is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in new product development processes and projects with a track record of success in new product launches.
  • Direct, global work experience and demonstrated experience in working with people in other countries and understanding regional differences is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and launch new products using a cross-functional, stage gate approach.
  • Ability to effectively promote and develop teamwork and team building skills, as well as empathy and inspiration for both team members and target markets alike.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and persuasion skills - able to define a vision/ /direction and motivate internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives using solution-based concepts based on user case needs. Promote entrepreneurialism.

Physical Requirements:



  • Hybrid role requiring to be on site in Hartford minimum of 3-4 days per week.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20-40%, including overnight travel.
