Additional Preferred Qualifications |
Experience with current technology including but not limited to: Read&Write, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Mac & PC Platforms,
JAWS, TextHelp, Zoomtext,
OCR, BrailleNote, remote captioning, and Canvas. Experience supporting college students with assistive technology. Experience reviewing clinical documentation in order to determine assistive technology needs and use by students. Familiarity with Braille production, Braille translation software, and maintenance of Braille embossers. Ability to manage numerous complex assignments and meet required deadlines. Experience with Office 365 products. Knowledge of web accessibility and usability standards including
WCAG 2.0. Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding disability access and compliance, including but not limited to Section 508 of the
ADA. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently. |

Duty/Responsibility |
Functions as the primary accommodation specialist for students with technology and accessibility specific needs. This involves engaging students in a needs assessment process, working with students to create personalized plans related to technology use (
TTS readers, screenreaders, etc.) and accessibility accommodations (alt-text, captions, etc.), and assisting with implementation of the student plans. Manages available student technology (hardware and software). |
Duty/Responsibility |
Provides direct assistance to
UNH faculty and staff related to implementation of technology and accessibility accommodations (captions, alt-text, FM systems, etc.). This includes providing faculty with one-on-one supports as needed related to the successful implementation of student accommodations, use of specific technologies, and proactive creation of accessible learning environments. Also includes creating faculty resources that can be used to guide successful implementation. |
Duty/Responsibility |
Manages processes related to the creation of accessible materials. This includes the acquisition and/or creation of accessible format texts, captions, transcriptions, images, and other media as needed. This also includes assisting in the procurement and management of technology that students use to access and engage with materials, and technology that
SAS can use to most effectively create and remediate materials. |
Duty/Responsibility |
Effectively collaborates with campus partners to advocate for a more accessible and inclusive
UNH. This includes creating materials, providing developments, and attending campus partner meetings. Works collaboratively on encouraging and creating processes that support the implementation of Universal Design and accessibility best practices. |
Duty/Responsibility |
Assists the
SAS team as needed. Assists in technology purchasing and assistance for the
SAS office and the
UNH Testing Center. Helps ensure
SAS is implementing best practices related to accessibility and has appropriate technology available within the office. |
