Solar Development Manager

The Solar Development team at RWE Renewables Americas is responsible for initiating, developing, and acquiring utility-scale solar PV plus energy storage projects in the US and Canada. The Development Manager will play a key role in delivering renewable energy projects in alignment with RWE's strategy in North America.

Responsibilities:



  • Carry out project origination and development tasks, including: negotiation of site control agreements, managing site surveys and due diligence, securing land use and environmental approvals, and advancing projects through the interconnection process. Additional tasks may include, but are not limited to, obtaining project easements, curative title work, and assisting with energy marketing.
  • Solicit and procure deliverables from external consultants. Manage consultants to ensure high quality deliverables are provided on-time and within project budgets.
  • As required, assist more experienced developers working on Solar PV origination and development projects and complete assigned tasks on schedule and in accordance with given instructions.
  • Ensure project financial models are kept up to date and help manage the internal financial approval process for assigned development projects.
  • Manage project budgets, objectives, schedules, and deliverables for assigned development projects.
  • Conduct risk analyses/assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on interconnection, new market evaluation, and power marketing. 8. Interface with and coordinate inputs from subject matter experts, including engineering, legal, procurement and construction personnel, as needed to ensure effective execution of assigned solar projects.



Qualifications:



  • Minimum 2 years of development experience applicable to renewable energy, ideally solar PV in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business/economics, or energy-related field.
  • Proven analytical skills and presentation skills.
