Counselor UnityPoint Health - Black Hawk Grundy Mental Health Center Shift: Full-time or part-time shifts available; M-F Benefits Eligible Sign-On Bonus: $7,500 paid over 2 years UnityPoint Health - Black Hawk Grundy Mental Health Center is comprised of a team of dedicated mental health professionals, offering a wide-range of services for children and adults with a variety of mental health concerns. We are seeking a master's level licensed social worker or mental health counselor to join our committed treatment team to provide diagnostic services and outpatient therapy. Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic evaluations on new clients through Open Access, routine scheduling, or work in the primary care clinic.
- Provides individual, group, couples and/or family therapy to clients using a brief, solution focused approach to behavioral health problems.
- Completes all required/requested documentation as outlined by BHGMHC standards, insurance and/or managed care company requirements, state standards, etc.
- Provides a wide range of care coordination/case management activities including information and referral, consultation with others, etc.
- Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
- Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
- Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
- Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
- Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- 1-3 years in the mental health field
- Familiarity with the DSM 5
- LMSW, or TLMHC, or TLMFT in the state of Iowa
- Diagnostic skills using the DSM 5.
- Ability to form working relationships with clients.
- Familiarity with community resources.
- Actively engaged in licensure supervision while LMSW, TLMHC or TLMFT in accordance with regulatory standards.
