This opportunity is in the Insurance Compliance Department.

Role Description:

In the role of AVP Compliance Reporting, you will be a senior leader charged with proactively managing Safety National's data reporting compliance obligations. To do so, you will work closely with various teams across the enterprise such as, Claims, Underwriting, Data Analytics, EDI, Finance, IT, and Premium Audit. You will serve as our escalation point of contact for regulatory and reporting agencies as you seek to mitigate and quickly remediate any inconsistencies. By serving in this role, you will help Safety National satisfy our compliance obligations and maintain our strong reputation and relationships with the industry regulators, bureaus and our insured clients.

Your day-to-day responsibilities as AVP, Compliance Reporting will be to provide collaborative leadership and strategic direction to our Compliance Reporting Division consisting of our Policy Reporting and Regulatory Reporting teams. These teams engage in reporting transactional level data to insurance regulatory agencies and bureaus involving insurance policy coverage (POC), auto liability (ALIR), workers' compensation premium/loss data and ISO lines of business premium/loss data.

As a leader, you will be required to set clear expectations, conduct performance evaluations, and provide effective coaching to team members and your management team in support of team goals and individual development plans. Additionally, you will collaborate to establish, maintain, and communicate clear goals, strategic plans, KPIs, policies, procedures, and best practices. Finally, you will actively seek, identify and pursue opportunities for innovation and strategies for process improvement, while adhering to regulatory compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate is someone with extensive insurance regulatory reporting and policy compliance experience. Prior formal management experience is required as is experience with unit stat reporting.. Someone with experience promoting data quality & integrity as well as experience in worker's compensation policy reporting and claims coding would be highly desirable.

  • A bachelor's degree is required


Required Qualifications:



  • 6 or more years of supervisory experience
  • 8 or more years of combined experience in insurance policy and regulatory reporting
  • Prior experience in leading teams functioning in the area(s) of responsibility
  • Experience with unit stat reporting
  • Prior experience with both regulatory and policy compliance
  • Excellent professional communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:



  • A graduate or advanced degree
  • Professional experience with industry organizations such as, WICO, NCCI, WCIRB, etc.
  • Experience with workers' compensation claims coding
  • Prior experience directly influencing and promoting data quality and data integrity initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge
