Position Highlights The DNP Simulation Faculty is a career track faculty member responsible for supporting clinical simulation learning experiences for APRN students. This Simulation Faculty will coordinate and execute innovative educational strategies to engage students in competency-based clinical learning using advanced technologies. The DNP Simulation Coordinator will be part of the College of Nursing Simulation Innovation and Mentoring Services (SIMS) team that reports to Academic Affairs. The SIMS team supports the development of evidenced-based skill acquisition to achieve clinical excellence using immersive simulation-based education experiences. The successful applicant will hold a part-time faculty position with rank. Salary to commensurate with experience and background.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordination and implementation of evidenced-based simulation education for students in the DNP program.
  • Demonstrates current knowledge in the pedagogy of simulation by deploying innovative teaching strategies.
  • Coordination of simulation technology and practices to support competency-based clinical education for DNP students in all specialties:
    • Evaluate and provide feedback to students regarding their simulation experiences per DNP policies.
    • Proficiency in computer and learning software, healthcare applications, and databases.
    • Supports
      proficiency improvement of DNP students needing improvement to meet required clinical competency and communicates with DNP faculty regarding the student's performance per policies.
  • Participates in CON, DNP program, and SILC meetings.
  • Supports orientation and mentorship of DNP faculty to
    simulation learning environments and technology.
  • Engages in scholarship related to Simulation.
  • Uses simulation pedagogy to teach courses in the areas relevant to their clinical expertise and certification.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Masters degree in nursing or related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience as an APRN.
  • Licensed to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse in Arizona.
  • Three
    or more years of experience in the use of Simulation with nursing education.
Preferred Qualifications * Doctoral degree in nursing or related field.

* Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE).

* Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS).

* Experience in program coordination, simulation development design experience, virtual simulation development reality, interprofessional simulation practice experiences, and strategic planning related to DNP program simulation.

* Experience with a variety of high-fidelity manikins and software.
