In the role of Project Accountant 2, we'll count on you to:

  • Work autonomously on client invoicing, collections management and project budgeting, as well as backup assistance on coding and processing A/P, time sheets, and expense reports
  • Accurately contract documentation, administration and maintenance, including fee and budget entry
  • Coordinate the project accounting system within the department and work with technical staff to ensure compliance with contractual requirements
  • Work daily within HDR's project accounting system to ensure documentation as well as accurate accounting records are maintained.
  • Assist multiple project managers and staff on a daily basis
  • Provide backup assistance on coding and processing AP/AR, time sheets, and expense reports
  • Work with section and project personnel to provide timely contract performance data and resolve financial issues
  • Monitor weekly and monthly project expenditures
  • Monitor and analyze project status/completion
  • Create and track invoices, collections management, project budgeting and assist with, and administer contracts, subcontracts and change documentation as necessary.
  • QA/QC of contract proposals and fees,
  • Monitor earned value reports, cost to complete reports and maintain contract compliance
  • Perform various specialized accounting functions of moderate complexity, such as research and working with both internal and external auditors
  • Work within client required software to upload/track invoicing and ensure that procedures and practices are followed in accordance with company policy, accounting principles and contractual obligations.
  • Perform other duties, as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Pay Transparency Location: Nevada: $71,663 - $79,860.
