Job Description:

The Radiation Oncology Data Specialist provides customer service to patients and family members of St. Joseph Hospital and promotes the mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health by adhering to our service and behavior standards.

Regular Tasks of this position include:

  • Greeting patients and direct them towards Patient Access for registration, or check them in for treatment
  • Answering the phones and assisting the caller with their purpose for calling
  • Checking and addressing voicemails
  • Triaging and processing incoming referrals, including insurance verification using various methods
  • Scheduling patient consultations once it is determined they qualify to be seen in our clinic
  • Scheduling follow-ups and/or sims from appointment request work que, email, etc.
  • Obtaining signatures and verification of demographic information from patients at the beginning of the month
  • Verifying that patients' insurance is still active
  • Checking email regularly and follow up with requests
  • Checking incoming and outgoing mail
  • Loading treatment consents and other documents into Aria
  • Scanning various documents into EPIC (via Solarity)
  • Requesting previous medical records
  • Verifying physician schedules are accurately portrayed in Aria, as posted in EZ Call
  • Rescheduling patients affected by changes in MD schedules
  • Checking stock of supplies and order biweekly
  • Refilling stock of Welcome Folders
  • Responding to various requests from other caregivers throughout the day, and other duties as assigned
  • Maintaining a positive and professional demeanor towards our patients and other caregivers.
  • Developing positive working relationships and bring resolution to issues on a timely basis within policies or established standards.
  • Promoting mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior and standards

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of clerical experience in an accredited hospital or medical facility Computer experience in data entry and word processing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Epic
  • Previous experience completing insurance verifications

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
