Summary:

The Senior Accounting Manager will play a key role in the monitoring, implementation, and documentation of new accounting standards, regulatory guidance, technical research, and accounting policy. The Accounting Senior Manager is expected to be able to assess and apply accounting principles and concepts while demonstrating a strong knowledge of accounting systems and US GAAP through assisting with new accounting policy implementations, supporting the preparation and filing of various regulatory reports, and developing reporting to support the automated generation of various internal and external deliverables. This position is a high-visibility role that will work with all levels of management, members of the business, and the company's external auditor.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain internal documentation related to accounting policy, accounting memos and position papers, and new accounting and regulatory guidance implementation.

Work with other cross-functional department managers on continuous improvement of external and internal reporting and accounting policy adherence.

Provide support to Accounting and Finance management on unique transactions, as requested.

Train and educate team members on accounting policies and procedures.

Ensure the timely completion of all tasks assigned to the Senior Accounting Manager.

Support the identification of process change supporting greater efficiencies and manage the completion of projects as they arise in the Accounting department, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Four-year college degree or equivalent in Accounting, CPA strongly preferred

Seven years or more related work experience, including supervisory experience

Previous banking experience strongly preferred

Strong technical accounting writing skills required

Excellent communication skills including written and oral presentation skills with an ability to interact with different levels of the organization

Ability to understand and dissect complex transactions

Must be able to work independently and handle multiple assignments simultaneously

Must have strong interpersonal skills in order to work with other cross-functional leaders and executives

Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
