A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) art teacher provides an arts program based on the National Core Arts Standards for regular and special education students which is appropriate to their needs and developmental level. The art teacher provides creative opportunities for all students in a variety of mediums. The MPS art teacher works collaboratively with school staff in order to integrate core curricular areas into the arts experience. In addition, they work with various community arts partners in order to provide additional high-quality arts programming for students. The arts program is offered in an equitable, multi-cultural setting and teaches all children to think deeply, critically and creatively. The teacher's work supports the MPS strategic plan. How To Apply Interested applicants must complete all sections of the application and MUST include the online submission of a current resume. Interview teams may request candidates to submit additional items including, but not limited to, letters of recommendation, sample lesson plans, reference lists, and/or writing samples. At the time of hire, the selected candidate will need to submit three (3) letters of recommendation dated within the last year and signed by the author and official transcripts conferring his/her undergraduate degree. Qualifications As of November 1, 2021, all MPS employees are required to be fully vaccinated. The health and safety of our staff and students is our number one priority.
