Job Summary

Leads and manages the scheduling and program support operations for FIU Online. Supervises the Program Operations team and serves as an operational partner between FIU Online and the academic units in the areas of online and certified hybrid course scheduling and compliance, academic program management, and new programlaunches. Reports to the Sr. Director, People & Programs.

  • Supervises the FIU Online Program Management scheduling team and oversees program coordination.
  • Manages the maintenance of the University Schedule of Classes as it pertains to online and certified hybrid courses and offerings within programs supported by FIU Online under specified agreements.
  • Trains members of the scheduling team and assures quality and compliance with university policy and practice for class information, attributes, naming conventions, enrollment, instructor assignment, and modality requirements.
  • Works directly with academic units across the university to coordinate online and certified hybrid course schedules; may provide training and on-the-job training support for academic unit program coordinators in inputting or updating course schedules as appropriate.
  • Researches and resolves scheduling conflicts and program approval coordination in collaboration with academic units, Office of Class Management, Academic Planning & Accountability, Academic and Career Success, and other FIU Online teams.
  • Analyzes class data for information accuracy and trends in accordance with University polices and priorities. Collaborates with data analysts and leadership to leverage PantherSoft, Tableau, Salesforce, and Business Intelligence (BI) systems. Makes operational and strategic recommendations to FIU Online leadership and academic units as applicable.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and interpretation of program launch/management procedures in conjunction with the Sr Dir, People & Programs. Coordinates new program planning, launch and post-launch phases, supporting the achievement of objectives and goals across multi-departmental operations.
  • Oversees the routine review and synchronization of program records and information across a variety of systems and databases to assure the most up-to-date information on FIU distance learning offering is available on Salesforce, the FIU Online Website, PantherSoft, the University application systems, the Florida BOG State University Data System (SUDS), University catalogs, and other data sources as applicable.
  • Designs, develops, and conducts capacity/course needs analysis in support of academic units. Maintains descriptive data for online programs and schedules to support the Sr. Dir., People & Programs in proactive support of communication with units on the health and best-practice management of online programs for student experience and success.
  • Assists with special programs or initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and four (4) years of related experience, or Master's degree in an appropriate specialization and two (2) years related experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with academic program scheduling management or coordination.
  • Prior higher education or academic support services experience.
