About the Role

Impact you will make

The Senior Cloud Engineer provides oversight and executes the creation of solutions and strong partner engagement in support of a hybridized infrastructure consisting of Linux and Microsoft ecosystems. As a forward-thinking and cloud-focused solutions provider you will partner with our Security and Architecture Teams to craft solution blueprints and champion their adoption across the organization. As a trusted advisor, the Senior Cloud Engineer will advise development teams on existing solutions and processes that will accelerate product delivery.

What you will do



  • Participate in the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms related to cloud computing
  • Perform technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications for cloud computing and On-premises environments
  • Develop specifications for new IT cloud computing products and service offerings within Azure
  • Partner with product development groups to align software and systems strategy
  • Create reusable templates for automating code delivery
  • Implement design and security principles through code development and code review
  • Implement automated strategies for system monitoring, deployment, and scaling
  • Ensure services maintain compliance with defined security standards (e.g., ISO 27001/2, NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, CSA CCM)
  • Provide best practices, standards, training, and general support for the cloud environment
  • Participate in a weekly On-Call rotation to ensure the highest levels of system availability
  • Work with peers to assign, prioritize and complete product backlog



What you will bring



  • 5+ years of experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure services within a large organization
  • 3+ years of experience working with Azure, including hands-on experience migrating workloads to Azure
  • Proven experience in assisting with the migrating and transforming of an organization into modern cloud delivery practices
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, Hyper-V, and VMware
  • Experience building cloud automation, including CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, PowerShell, ARM, and Azure DevOps
  • Proven experience with:


    • Terraform
    • Creating/updating/maintaining IaC templates
    • Supporting Hyper-V and VMware hypervisors
    • Building High Availability/Fault-Tolerant Systems
    • Working in an Agile SCRUM environment
    • Monitoring tools such as Application Insights
    • Windows and Linux platforms


  • Knowledge of Azure Policy and understanding of cloud governance
  • Knowledge of security and privacy-related industry standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001/2, NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, CSA CCM)
  • Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills



What we would like to see



  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Certifications:


    • Microsoft Azure Architect
    • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator


  • Experience working with:


    • Azure Active Directory, Azure networking, Azure IaaS, Azure Security, Azure Automation, & Azure DevOps Administration and Management
    • ARM
    • Infrastructure as Code platforms


  • Strong project management and organizational skills
