Job Summary
Assist in administering routine respiratory care services; is responsible for the performance of respiratory procedures commonly used in assigned areas; Work under the general supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner. Actual duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the patient unit assigned; provide excellent health care to all clients in Lakeland throughout their developmental life cycle.
Essential Functions
  • Deliver respiratory procedures as prescribed by physicians, under the direct supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Document according to policy, all pertinent information on respiratory care rendered.
  • Ensure patent airway and adequate ventilation during cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor respiratory monitoring equipment under direct supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Process respiratory equipment for sterilization and provides necessary preventive maintenance.
  • Contribute to the effective communication needs of the patient care team. Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service.
  • Maintain commitment to professional growth and competency. Adhere to the organization's published values.
  • Contribute to the productivity of the department and proper coverage as assigned by management, i.e. facility assignment, unit assignment, schedule call, etc.
Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of relevant experience A minimum of 62 semester hours of college credit from a college or university accredited by its regional association or its equivalent. The 62 semester hours of college credit must include the following courses: anatomy & physiology, chemistry, microbiology and mathematics.
    OR
    Must have current allied health credential in one of the following: Nurse (RN, LPN, MSN, LVN), Polysomnographic Technologist 9RPSGT, RST), Paramedic (EMT-P), Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT), Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA), Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).

    A minimum of 1-year clinical experience* defined as a minimum of 8 hours per week in a direct patient care role, under the supervision of a Medical Director over an acceptable patient care area, for a full calendar year within a 3-year period prior to application. Required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
