Fox News is currently seeking a Satellite and Field Technician to join the Miami Bureau team. The Satellite and Field Technician will collaborate with field operations, production, and engineering teams during breaking news coverage and scheduled events.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage both uplink and downlink satellite feeds as well as fiber transmissions

  • Coordinate Electronic News Gathering (ENG) live shots and multi-camera productions

  • Technical and mechanical upkeep of Satellite News Gathering Vehicles (SNVs)

  • Operations and maintenance tasks specific to the Miami Bureau

  • Collaborate with teams on large-scale field productions

  • Operate various SNVs across our network for emergent news situations

  • Drive company and rental vehicles responsibly

  • Travel on short notice for urgent news developments

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 3+ years in newsgathering or field engineering

  • Knowledge of lighting, fiber-optic systems, routers, and satellite transmission gear

  • Proficiency with computers and basic networking principles

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure news environment

  • A clean driving record is a must, and a commercial driver's license is favored

  • Openness to being trained to operate larger vehicles

  • Capability of lifting heavy equipment

  • Valid passport for international travel assignments

  • Flexibility to work a variety of non-traditional shifts which may include overtime and weekends to match a 24-hour news cycle
