New York Tech's Office of Student Engagement and Development seeks an Assistant Director of Accessibility Services, located at the New York City campus.



Responsibilities

Coordinate the Office of Accessibility Services, including direct delivery of services for students with disabilities on the Long Island and New York City campuses.

Oversee and coordinate testing accommodations as needed for students registered with the Accessibility Services Office.

Provide academic counseling services to undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities.

Advocate on behalf of students, faculty and staff in disability related matters.

Conduct intake interviews and facilitate reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities in compliance with the American with Disabilities Act, section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, university policies and procedures.

Create and disseminate Accessibility Services Office information and resources to faculty, staff and students.

Assist with recruitment and retention strategies for students with disabilities. Inform and advise prospective students on matters related to disability programs and services.

Collect, evaluate and maintain documentation and student records. Responsible for reporting requirements and report preparation as needed.

Provide referrals to counseling services where applicable to undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities.

Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Masters in social work, counseling, school psychology or rehabilitation psychology.

Required Field of expertise in social work, school counseling, or rehabilitative counseling.

Proficient in all areas of ADA; knowledge of ADA/Section 504 requirements and regulations, learning styles and accommodations.

NYS LMSW or LMHC, NYS certification in school counseling is required.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and administrative skills required.

Proficiency in Microsoft programs, and software and assistive technology related to the delivery of accommodations.

Experience working with students with disabilities in a culturally diverse environment preferred.

Ability to work nights/weekends on occasion and on call is required.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.



Minimum Salary

USD $62,400.00/Yr.


Maximum Salary

USD $65,000.00/Yr.
