Payment Specialist - Wires/ACH

Description

A Payment Specialist is responsible for daily processing of Wire and ACH transfer activity including incoming and outgoing transfers. This position answers calls, resolves exceptions, and researches and responds to ACH and Wire related inquiries received from clients, business partners, other banks or financial institutions. The specialist is primarily responsible for processing and servicing based on standard operations procedures and deadlines, which requires high levels of accuracy and risk management.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities



  • Process all incoming and outgoing ACH transfers accurately and within established service level agreements while strictly adhering to all bank policies and procedures.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing wire transfers (Domestic, International USD and International Foreign Currency) accurately and within established service level agreements while strictly adhering to all bank policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all established Federal Regulations for ACH and wire transfers (OFAC, BSA/AML, Dodd-Frank, etc.)
  • Respond to customer or business partner inquiries with exemplary customer service in the established timeframe.
  • Identify and escalate complex issues/concerns to Treasury Services, senior staff or management in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report all suspicious activity to meet compliance regulations and avoid compromising the integrity of our bank and customers.
  • Process all Recall/Return requests within the required deadlines to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction and reduce possible losses for the bank.
  • Communicate effectively across all areas to assist in the understanding of the payment processes and answer questions.
  • Support the ACH/Wire transaction system's configuration by identifying and reporting issues to management and the Wires technology support team.


Experience and Education Needed:



  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of at least 2 years of Banking Experience or Related Experience.


Skills & Abilities Needed:



  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within established policies and guidelines and provides appropriate customer solutions.
  • Must be quality and detailed oriented yet understand the level of detail appropriate for the situation.
  • Ability to work independently in a diverse fast-paced work environment.
