Mizzou Specialty Services offer specialty medications and comprehensive clinical medication management to patients throughout Missouri. Our services address a range of disease states, including hematology and oncology, cystic fibrosis, immunology, dermatology, HIV, hepatitis, multiple sclerosis, neurology, osteoporosis, and more. We operate two specialty pharmacies: Mizzou Pharmacy- Ellis Fischel and Mizzou Pharmacy- Old 63. Our staffing hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with closures on holidays and weekends.

Essential functions of a specialty pharmacy technician include:

* Provide exceptional customer service through active listening, clear verbal communication, and accurate written correspondence.

* Review and manage processing queues efficiently.

* Handle incoming and outgoing calls with patients, prescribers, pharmacies, and insurance companies professionally.

* Collaborate closely with the specialty clinical team to ensure prompt and effective patient care.

* Accurately prepare specialty medications for dispensing.

* Prepare and organize prescriptions for shipment or delivery.

* Assist with inventory stocking and storage to maintain organized and accessible medication supplies.

* Conduct point-of-sale transactions that require proper cash handling, offer patient counseling, and comply with all out-window procedures for patient safety.

* Perform additional tasks as required by the role.

Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
