EHS&Q Manager North Sub-Region

As the EHSQ Manager, you will provide timely, accurate, and relevant Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) advice and leadership. Your responsibilities include training, site assessments, accident and incident investigation, and reviewing and assisting in applying global EHS policies and procedures. You will ensure compliance with corporate policies and local regulations while improving operational efficiency and reducing accident rates.

Principal Accountabilities:

Provide EHSQ leadership and advice, including training, site assessments, and incident investigations. Lead direct field support on Environmental, Health, Safety, and Driver Safety activities, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and local regulations. Implement EHSQ training programs to meet regulatory compliance and enhance operational efficiency. Develop customized risk assessments for high-risk activities or deviations from established policies. Review current EHSQ processes and implement initiatives to address observed trends in safety data. Provide support during regulatory inspections and EHSQ audits. Establish vital procedures, training, and verification systems to ensure full compliance with environmental and worker safety regulations. Represent the organization on local and regional regulatory groups, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of EHS practices. Lead incident investigations and facilitate reporting of sustainability metrics across the region. Coach and support leadership teams and site leaders on EHSQ issues and concerns. Develop and implement efficiency strategies aligned with the company's long-term profitability objectives. Travel up to 50% within the North Subregion.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Engineering, occupational health and safety, or other technical undergraduate degree (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical); advanced degree preferred.

  • EHSQ qualification (CSP, ASP, SMS, etc.) or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of field safety and EHSQ management experience in a petrochemical, refinery, industrial gas, or related facility; prior operational and plant management experience is a plus.

  • Proven understanding of legislation/regulations and compliance strategies (OSHA, EPA, DOT).

  • Familiarity with EHSQ monitoring programs and analytical methods.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, customer relations, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Must have a proactive approach and the ability to build trust with frontline workers and management.

  • Commitment to continuous self-development and flexibility to work outside normal hours as needed.
