Metro Imaging is a leading provider of outpatient imaging services in the greater St. Louis area. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and driving the organizational excellence of Metro Imaging. There are five locations. We are seeking a strategic and experienced COO to lead operations at Metro Imaging, an independent diagnostic testing facility (IDTF). As the COO, you will oversee daily operations, drive business growth, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in diagnostic imaging, a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, and proven leadership skills. This role requires an individual who can optimize operational efficiency, enhance patient satisfaction, and ensure the highest standards of care.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all aspects of the facility's operations, including diagnostic imaging services, administrative functions, and financial management.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the overall efficiency of operations.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including Medicare guidelines for IDTFs.
  • Collaborate with the VP/CEO and executive team to set and achieve organizational goals, manage budgets, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Monitor and analyze facility performance metrics, utilizing data to identify opportunities for improvement in service delivery, patient satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including referring physicians, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting the diagnostic imaging field.
  • Promote a patient-centric approach, ensuring a positive experience from scheduling to service delivery and follow-up.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in healthcare management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within an imaging facility or IDTF.
  • In-depth knowledge of diagnostic imaging services, including radiology, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and other modalities.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, particularly for IDTFs.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, financial management, and operational planning.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
  • Analytical mindset, with experience in using data to drive decision-making and performance improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Healthcare Management or Radiology Administration (e.g., CRA or CPHQ).
  • Experience with quality improvement methodologies and patient safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with health information technology, including EHR/EMR systems, PACS, and RIS.
