Job Description:

Responsible for correctly ordering lab tests to be performed and accurately reporting lab results by telephone.

Job Duties:

• Performs data entry of patient information, ordering of tests, scheduling tests, etc. in laboratory computer.
• Prints, sorts and distributes lab reports; answers telephone and relays messages. Takes Physician orders for outpatient lab testing.
• Notifies phlebotomists of orders to be collected and communicates test information and results to physicians, nurses and outside clients.
• Transports specimens to the processing area or appropriate lab department.
• Receives outpatients and gives prompt service.
• Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills, initiative, tact, diplomacy, and dependability to perform all the duties of the position.

Requirements:

• HS or GED is required.
• No experience is required.
