FSM - Regulatory & Customer Audits Superintendent

Bachoco USAis seeking a Regulatory and Customer Audits Superintendentfor our Fort Smith, ARlocation.

Summary:Manages and coordinates the auditing activities for the processing plants, feed mills, hatcheries and live operations, primarily concerning GFSI BRC systems and QA and supporting programs such as SSOPs, GMPs, HACCP, finish product and incoming raw material monitoring programs, USDA PVP and Halal. Assists other departments in the coordination of their audits, such as HR-related audits (Social Responsibility Audits and SMETA Audits), Animal Welfare Audits, etc.Creates and follows adequate BRC auditing schedules. Reports results to responsible operational personnel and follows up to ensure required improvements are made in a timely fashion. Works and interacts with professional auditing consultants and agencies to coordinate visits, actions and responses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Plans, organizes, sets and follows specific scheduling for site audits.
  • Prioritizes the audit schedule for customer audits and schedules random audits using this prioritization.
  • Develops and presents training materials for Risk assessments, HACCP, Crisis Management and Recall Procedures.
  • Assists in the improvement of programs and systems, including the QA and Sanitation programs, GMP (s) and HACCP.
  • Helps the sites prepare for customer audits, GFSI and FSIS HACCP Audits.
  • Lead the activities of independent auditing services that are used to measure and improve the internal audit system.
  • Responsible for any and all directives brought forth by senior management.
  • Monitors information up-date system, web articles and FSIS Directives. Including customer updates and customer requirements.
  • Attends HACCP, BRC, Halal, PVP and Food Safety meetings at various facilities.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a science field is preferred. Alternatively, three to seven years of food plant QA experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills



  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business data and common scientific and technical journals and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write clearly and summarize priorities for middle and upper management.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers, auditing groups, regulatory agencies, and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to develop and deliver training materials to site personnel.



Mathematical Skills:Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations for the purposes of prioritizing tasks.

Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database Management systems, Contact Management systems; Human Resource systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Successful candidate must be able to obtain HACCP training and become a certified Internal Auditor within the first 4 months after hiring.

Other Qualifications:Successful candidate must be able to participate in the company driving Program,must be able to travel up to 25 % of the time and must be able to initiate and complete duties in a timely and efficient manner.
