Overview
Summary The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the daily accounting functions as well as developing, documenting and improving processes to increase effectiveness. This position also ensures the accounting team has timely and accurate period, quarterly, and annual financial closings. This position is responsible for direction and management of staff and is expected to foster a positive team environment. This position is one of multiple accounting manager positions, and will also handle the technical accounting related to compensation, business operations, purchase accounting, or specific topics as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Four-year college degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 6 years progressive accounting experience
- At least one year of people management experience
- High level of proficiency in navigating systems and manipulating data through Excel or other tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven leadership skills; Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (accuracy)
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in person and writing within all levels of the organization
- Meets deadlines and responds with a sense of urgency
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Great Plains Dynamics
- Two Years public accounting experience
- CPA or MBA
