Position Summary

The UNM-Taos Facilities Department is looking for a full-time highly motivated individual to join our team. This individuals will assist in maintaining our external and internal appearance of our UNM-Taos facilities by providing and or assisting with a diverse range of routine campus custodial services which include dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning windows, cleaning and restocking restrooms.; site security, basic light equipment operation and maintenance, routine grounds maintenance and snow removal, logistical assistance, and/or other related duties in accordance with day-to-day requirements of the Branch.

The ideal candidate should:
Be experienced in the cleaning process and focused on building upkeep.
Have great physical endurance to cover large areas
Have a keen eye for detail and diligence.
Have a valid driver's license, drive institutional vehicles and may be required to travel around town and to Albuquerque Main Campus.

This job will work the night shift (1:00pm-10:00pm) and may be required to work some weekends, and scheduled shifts.

Conditions of Employment
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

Less than high school; no previous experience required.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
1. Knowledge of and experience in the maintenance and operation of common custodial equipment? (Such as buffing machines, hand power tools, and cleaning chemicals.)
2. Experience with snow removal equipment.
3. Knowledge of safety and risk management and or chemical safety.
4. Knowledge of the operation, minor installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of standard physical plant equipment.
5. Knowledge of assessing damage, reporting issues and informing management of significant problems with facilities.
