Job Summary

StartUP FIU is currently seeking a for a driven Digital Marketing Student Assistant to join StartUP FIU's Marketing Team. The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge of the digital marketing landscape, including various social media platforms. Our student assistant will be responsible for contributing to our website, photographing events, participating in online outreach and promotion, and assisting with brand campaigns. Candidates should have a solid understanding of how each social media platform works and how to optimize content. Duties to include:

  • Assist in developing social media content calendar
  • Create engaging website and social media content.
  • Monitor analytics with social media team to identify viable ideas; continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights, and best practices, and then acting on the information.
  • Assist in developing graphics for special events, workshops, other programming as needed.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to create and implement campaigns.
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages our FIU students and community members to take action.
  • Collaborate with other departments to manage StartUP FIU's reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions.
  • Seek out new content and design perspectives to bring innovative ideas/approaches to the team while incorporating current design trends into each unique layout to produce an up-to-date style for custom content.
  • Works closely with other student assistants, staff, and directors to support projects or programs within the assigned scope of work.
  • Photographs and takes videos of events and programs or as directed to create content for website and social media channels
  • Performs any related duties assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge in Canva.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and Google
  • Working knowledge in all Office programs.
  • Basic knowledge in the Adobe Cloud.
