Job Summary
Fishbeck is seeking a motivated environmental/chemical engineering or environmental science student to join our Environmental Programs and Air Quality teams. Interns assist staff in environmental inspections, data collection, and report creation. Ideal candidates will have an analytical and inquisitive mindset and share a passion for the environment.

Primary Functions
- Assist in collection and assessment of storm water samples.
- Gather, calculate, and organize data for environmental plans including SPCCs, PIPPs, HWCPs, and SWPPPs.
- Contribute to permits, applications, and reports.
- Collaborate with technical staff on consulting projects across Michigan.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Common office tasks involve sitting, standing, walking, using a personal computer, and communicating verbally. Most work is conducted indoors with occasional project site visits. Lifting up to 50 pounds, maneuvering outdoors, using technical data collection equipment is necessary at times. Travel for field work depending on client needs or requirements, including driving a vehicle. Visual acuity necessary to perform responsibilities.
Desired Education/Licensure
Enrolled in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering; Environmental science; or related program.
Desired Skills/Experience
- Previous field experience collecting and analyzing water, soil, or air samples.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite products.
- Comfortable asking questions and collaborating with technical staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), follow direction, and work independently.
- Internship experience in environmental consulting is a plus.
