Job Summary
Fishbeck is seeking a motivated civil engineering student for a summer 2024 internship position. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and committed to high-quality work performance. Must have excellent planning, organization, and communication skills, and can work with other staff in a project team environment. We are looking for support in our MI and OH offices.

Primary Functions
- Assist in design calculations, quantify bid items, develop cost estimates, execute CAD drafting and prepare reports.
- Plan and design for water main, sanitary sewer and road projects for municipalities.
- Participate in site visits to gather data and perform inspections or field checks.
- Work closely with technical staff from all Fishbeck offices to provide utility and drainage design and other related engineering services, mainly for local municipalities.
- Interact daily with project teams in a multi-disciplinary and multi-office environment.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Exposed to occasional lifting and carrying. Will have normal office working conditions and be required to sit and use a computer. Capable of traveling to and maneuvering around project sites. Able to use various technical equipment for communication and documentation. Visual acuity necessary to perform responsibilities.
Desired Education/Licensure
Enrolled in a Civil Engineering program.
Desired Skills/Experience
- Relevant internship, co-op, or field experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
- Excellent computer and communication skills.
