Scope of Position
Responsible for identifying, remediating and communicating issues and needs pertaining to the technical support in The James Perioperative Services at the medical center. Provides front line integration technical support to operating rooms and conference areas. Responsible for video production/editing, conferencing setup for on and off campus conferences, and video conferencing aspects of Robotic Surgery and Perioperative Services. Maintains, troubleshoots and assess computer, video integration and other electronic, computer based systems for repair with proper escalation. Monitors and tracks the progress of service/problem requests to ensure a prompt, accurate and thorough response has occurred. Assists with training of end users. Position Summary Leads less experienced staff in support and maintenance of computer, video integration and other electronic, computer based systems at James Perioperative Services at OSUMC. Responsible for the installation, monitoring and service of the desktop hardware, software and peripherals at the whole unit or individual component level at OSUMC. Provides technical expertise, fault diagnosis, identification, isolation and resolution for the most complex PC/printer/peripheral/data/network/telephony systems and operating room equipment issues and deployments. Assists in the integration and interfacing of these systems and/or networks with the Medical Centers data network. Working within the guidelines established by the OSUMC Technology Services and Support team within OSUMC IT, performs complex project related break/fix and deployment duties within the James Perioperative Services. Acts as a team leader for complex projects, assignments and issues associated with systems integration. Provides video and integration technical conferencing event assistance to faculty and staff through the setup of remote and in-the-field A/V systems, OR mounted cameras, broadcasting equipment, video recorders, and audio/video conferencing systems; provides on-site AV troubleshooting as needed; provides assistance to team related duties that include marketing material, team focused professional development, and equipment maintenance; manages internal and vendor customer relations; responsible for producing multimedia for Robotic Surgery and the James Perioperative Services. Minimum Education Required Bachelor degree required or equivalent experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive experience with multi-media development, information systems, and applications is desired. Familiarity with clinical surgical procedures preferred. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills. Working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Office products. |
