The plumber's role installs and repairs pipes and fixtures that carry water, gas, or other fluids in an industrial environment. Inspect plumbing systems, perform diagnostics, and ensure compliance with regulatory codes. Install fixtures and devices associated with heating, cooling, and sanitation systems. Work independently and solve problems quickly and efficiently. Strong technical skills, master at troubleshooting, and excellent customer service skills. Collaborate with other professionals including electricians, general maintenance technicians, HVAC technicians, and welders. Duties
Minimum Requirements At least 18 years of age or older. Hold a High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalency. Trade school diploma or completed apprenticeship. 5-10 years' experience as a plumber in an industrial environment. Job Safety Requirements Must follow strict safety procedures and a strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines. Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, company policies and procedures, and Safety and Environmental Regulations. Physical Requirements Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools commonly used in the plumbing field; physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing approximately 50 pounds; move and load or unload materials from carts and vehicles; push and maneuver heavy objects using carts, dollies, or dumpsters weighing up to 250 pounds. Ability to work at heights. Incumbents may be exposed to noise, dust, cleaning solvents, battery acids, vehicle fumes, and oils/lubricants. Skills Required Strong knowledge of plumbing. Proficiency in reading blueprints and using plumbing tools. Strong working knowledge of water supply, heating, and ventilation systems. Experience working with various plumbing and related fixtures, identifying issues within a system to resolution. Good communication skills to convey issues and impacts. Working knowledge of CMMS tools and software.
