What You Will Do:
Program Timeframe: Mid-May through mid-August Join Gannett Fleming, an award-winning architecture, engineering, and construction firm, as an Environmental Engineering Intern and gain real-world experience in a dynamic environment. Joining the environmental engineering team at Gannett Fleming means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. Our team excels in dams and levees, advanced water and wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and conveyance, collection, and transmission. During your internship, you will work on a highly functioning team and aid in providing design services for a wide variety of projects. You'll receive guidance, supervision and mentorship by experienced engineers and professionals with your success as the goal. The majority of our interns convert to full-time employees.
What You'll Be Working On
- Support real client projects by assisting with project management duties, environmental design and construction tasks.
- Perform design related assignments under direction of an architect or designer.
- Organize and maintain project electronic and hard copy files.
- Perform basic computations as directed by an architect or designer.
- Assist in field survey work as necessary.
- Developing or maintaining CAD databases
Education | Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program for Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related area of study.
- A demonstrated interest in the Environmental Engineering industry through previous internships or applied academic coursework.
- Strong data analysis, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Knowledge of SketchUp or Rhino.
- Involvement with professional associations, on-campus groups, and/or community service initiatives.
