Job Summary

Working under direct supervision of both the Director, Sales and Marketing Ecommerce with day to day guidance from the User Experience Architect, the Front End Developer builds the client-side of our web experience by combining usability, visual design and cutting-edge front-end skills. The Developer delivers best-in-class styling, accessibility and optimization across all of Connection's digital applications. S/he designs and develops new UI features and modules that result in a great user experience across all devices and viewports through responsive development. S/he collaborates with the product and design teams to translate organizational and customer needs into functional and appealing interactive applications. S/he works closely with the UI/UX designers and .NET back-end developers to bridge the gap between design and technical implementation. S/he is a tech-savvy professional who has a solid understanding of development best practices and methodologies, is passionate about advocating for emerging standards, as well as new digital technologies and tools.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Computer Science or related field required, MBA preferred
  • Four plus years of coding experience in HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript, as well as experience with AJAX libraries and frameworks (e.g. Bootstrap, jQuery, etc.)
  • Successful completion of numerous front-end development projects for web-based applications
  • Experience with responsive development in order to deliver code that works across platforms and devices
  • Working knowledge of Sitecore Content Management System
  • Familiarity with cross-browser coding, testing and debugging
  • Strength in UI/UX, visual design and usability
  • Proven success in delivering web interfaces that are accessible / ADA compliant
  • Practiced in creating style guides, interaction and pattern libraries
  • Understanding of the entire SDLC (define, design, develop and deploy)
  • Experience in a front-end development role, preferably in a business-to-business (B2B) enterprise E-Commerce setting
  • Able to align design principles, methods and execution with corporate and departmental needs and constraints
  • Able to work simultaneously on short-term sprints and long-term goals and objectives
  • Working knowledge of Agile Software Development with Ability to work in an Agile Software Development environment
  • Collaboration skills with ability to work with internal cross-functional teams
  • Communication skills with ability to interact effectively with technical and business personnel
  • Organizational skills with ability to plan and implement website changes
  • Multi-tasking skills with ability to manage different projects at various stages of development, covering different disciplines, and impacting different areas of the websites
