Continental Properties is looking for a Data Engineer I to join our team at our home office in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. This newly created role is a part of a transformation we are undergoing to work towards a more data-driven organization that is better equipped to produce the high-quality data we need to make better decisions and provide more unique, more compelling products and services to our customers. As our Data Engineer you will develop data pipelines that support data warehousing, BI reporting, and analytics. You will use your technical abilities to provide value using data to our organization. As a Data Engineer, you will report to our Director of Data Management and Integration and meaningfully contribute to this department. We are embracing a hybrid working environment and you can work both in the office and remote. #LI-Hybrid Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop data pipelines for warehousing, BI reporting, and analytics using Snowflake, Matillion, DBT, and PowerBI from database, file, and API sources using DataOps methodologies
- Implement data quality and integrity checks to identify and fix data issues.
- Inform our processes that create data throughout the company; influence changes in processes to create data that is accurate and useful
- Be a resource for data users in the organization. Create awareness of available data. Assist our users with technical tasks including data extracts, report creation, SQL, and general data system troubleshooting
- Develop documentation on database and Power BI datasets
- Participate in peer review of code and processes
Skills for Success:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field.
- Ideally looking for 1 to 2 years in a SQL-based data engineering or analytics
- Strong SQL skills
- Working knowledge of Matillion
- Experience working with APIs
- An understanding of warehouse design and best practices
- Experience loading and transforming structured and semi-structured data using
- Data preparation and report creation using Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or another BI tool
