The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Columbia University's Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute (ZMBBI) brings together world-class scientists across academic disciplines conducting pioneering research to transform our understanding of how the brain works - and gives rise to mind and behavior. The Institute fosters a collaborative and inclusive environment across 50+ labs, advancing insights into human health by exploring how the brain develops, performs, endures and recovers. Columbia Center for Community Health (CCCH) located within ZMBBI is home to Columbia's Community Health Worker (CHW) Training Institute called Institute for Training Outreach and Community Health (InTOuCH). This program recruits trusted members from faith and community-based organizations to complete an eight-week, certified CHW training curriculum in stroke and cardiovascular disease prevention. The Community Nurse Educator will have a strong understanding of the socio-cultural factors that contribute to health disparities, with a specific focus on African-American faith-based communities. Reporting to the Program Director, the Nurse Educator carries out the Columbia Center for Community Health's mission to expand health access to individuals by linking community members, faith and community based-organizations. This position is a non-clinical role and is part of a team that provides equitable health education and services to the community, and collaborates with internal and external partners. This role is in-person, on site 5 days per week. Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
