We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Lead to work from our manufacturing facility in Kings Mountain, NC on our Third Shift. The Maintenance Lead will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties including the planning and coordinating of maintenance activities on various shifts in conjunction with the maintenance technicians, troubleshooting and repairing equipment issues, supporting the implementation of preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities



  • Assists with maintaining a controlled inventory of tools, parts and supplies needed for the maintenance team to effectively complete their jobs.
  • Responsible for manufacturing productivity and product quality via the maintenance department in the Supervisors absence.
  • Assists with supervising the plant maintenance department by assigning work orders and setting priorities.
  • Responsible for retaining and uphold accurate records of all Preventative Maintenance logs, EAM Systems, work orders, and functions for King's Mountain facility with respect to third party audit requirements.
  • Supports department Supervisor who will work with the management team to implement and enforce all GMP, OSHA, EPA and Food Safety programs.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs manufacturing equipment both mechanical and electrical (motor controls, DC/AC drives and controls, frying and baking equipment, sheeters, extruders, temperature instrumentation, burner systems and controls, packaging machines, electronic scales, programmable logic controllers) etc.
  • Responsible to repair various types of facility equipment (lift trucks, pumps, fans, air compressors, hydraulic equipment, HVAC) etc.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping and 5S processes.


Requirements



  • Thorough knowledge of industrial and production-type machines (Food processing equipment a plus)
  • HS or Trade School study in Machinery, Industrial Machinery Mechanics, HVAC Mechanics, etc
  • 3-5 years' experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to define issues, interpret data and evaluate options
  • Knowledge of Ishida packaging equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of Heat and Control Fryers and/or conveyors preferred

  • Requires knowledge and skills in electrical, mechanical, and electronic applications acquired through 3-5 years of experience.
  • Able to read and work from blueprints, drawings, work orders and electrical schematics.
  • Requires the ability to troubleshoot and repair all types of equipment quickly and independently.
  • Requires working at excessive heights.
  • Required to wear non-slip shoes and appropriate personal protective equipment. Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs.

  • Assist to complete production by working in the line as instructed by Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintain inventories of tools and supplies.

  • Perform any other duties as required by Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain complete plant cleanliness. Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude with demonstrated ability troubleshooting process related issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with staff and others contacted in the course of the work.
  • Ability to think and work effectively under pressure and accurately complete tasks within established times.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadline.
