The Opportunity

  • Financial Reporting Manager at a Growth-Oriented Energy Company
  • You'll manage a team of two that are responsible for SEC reporting, technical accounting research, financial statement consolidation, and so much more

  • Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for the month-to-month and quarter-to-quarter statutory external reporting requirements.

Key activities include:

  • Manage the SEC/external reporting process during quarter-end and year-end.
  • Draft, edit, review, and ensure adequate support is maintained for SEC 10-Q and 10-K filings
  • Manage the FCCS Consolidation process, review consolidation entries, and review and approve financial reports prior to internal distribution
  • Responsible for the oversight of the maintenance of the FCCS application, partnering with our IT business partners
  • Perform technical accounting research (existing and new accounting standards) and prepare memos as necessary
  • Review company-wide analytics and supporting schedules
  • Manage the post-close entries process
  • Assist with earnings release preparation and filing
  • Manage the monthly internal reporting process and review deliverables
  • Serve as a key liaison between the Company and external auditors
  • Review governmental forms as needed
  • Assist with and/or lead integrations and other special projects
  • Provide training and assistance on Workiva and FCCS
  • Drive improvements in systems and processes

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required. Master's degree a plus
  • CPA designation (or parts passed / CPA candidate) a plus
  • Minimum 6 years of SEC / public-company-level reporting experience required, or minimum 5 years of Big 4 experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a high-functioning team and train staff as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to manage critical deadlines and adapt in a dynamic work environment
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship is required
  • Recent/current experience with 10-K and 10-Q disclosure drafting or review
  • Strong understanding and application of U.S. GAAP

Our Refineries and Logistics Operations
