One of our favorite clients is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing insurance follow-up and posting payments, ensuring accurate and timely billing processes, and providing exceptional support to our patients and healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Insurance Follow-Up: Proactively track and follow up on unpaid claims with insurance companies, ensuring timely resolution and payment.
  • Claims Resubmission: Resubmit denied or rejected claims as necessary to secure prompt payment.
  • Payment Posting: Accurately and efficiently post payments and adjustments to patient accounts, maintaining precise financial records.
  • Billing Discrepancies: Review and resolve billing discrepancies and denials in collaboration with insurance companies and patients.
  • Patient Support: Assist patients with billing inquiries, provide clear explanations of charges, and offer guidance on payment options.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, administrative staff, and other healthcare team members to address billing issues and improve billing processes.
  • Insurance Verification: Assist with verifying insurance coverage and benefits to ensure proper billing.
  • Prior Authorizations: Obtain prior authorizations for surgical procedures and other medical services from insurance companies.
  • Compliance: Ensure all billing activities comply with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and Medicare guidelines.



Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Medical Billing Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and billing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations, including HIPAA and Medicare billing guidelines.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions.
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
