Position Summary

As a Senior Materials Planner, you will play a key role in optimizing inventory and ensuring support for near-term demand. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining accurate forecasts to provide real-time demand visibility for our Purchasing and Sourcing teams. This requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders to gather forecast data and utilizing appropriate planning BOMs to input Item Requirements into MRP systems.

In this role, you will also manage supportability models by platform and work alongside Procurement and Sourcing teams to evaluate and achieve supply goals. Effective inventory management will be a crucial part of your responsibilities, including working with buyers to enhance inventory efficiency and minimize exposure.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Upload, create, and maintain planning and forecasting data

  • Ensure stocking plans are maintained to avoid stock out situation without risking excess and obsolescence

  • Identify shortage risks before it impacts production/orders and develop mitigation plans through supportability discussions with Procurement & Sourcing teams.

  • Review unusual changes in demand and validate with internal stakeholders

  • Drive Planning BOM and Planning Strategy updates based on historical data

  • Create Planning BOMs for New Product in conjunction with input from Engineering.

  • Support NPI launches, evaluate supply readiness to ensure availability pre-launch.

  • Set actions with buyers for driving to inventory targets based on planning and stocking strategies.

  • Review on hand and on order exposure with buyers and drive actions to minimize liability and scrap.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain management, Engineering or Finance.

Required Experience

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience, in Supply Chain management or Global Procurement

  • Experience with ERP systems, Bill of Materials, knowledge of manufacturing processes

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Organized and detail oriented, able to identify anomalies and errors in data, and to capture trends.

  • Able to set direction, articulate point of view and influence others in getting consensus

  • Good analytical skills, including knowledge of spreadsheets

  • Working knowledge of Oracle ASCP preferred

  • High energy and a desire to work in a results-oriented, fast growth fast changing environment

  • Intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving and comfort with ambiguity

  • Able to assess a variety of information, draw similarities and compile actionable recommendations

  • Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking
