Mansfield Service Partners "O'rourke Marine Services" is looking for a Tankerman for our Channelview , TX location for the Night Shift. The Tankerman is supervising transfers, including safe loading and unloading of liquid barge cargo. Incumbents in this position will also be responsible for securing dock barge and occasionally assisting lease tugs in building and breaking tow and must achieve and maintain USCG licensing. Must also be able to work dockside transfers as well.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order, and if not, notify management
  • Provide customer service at Dock for all services
  • Ensure work area is clear of debris and a safe working environment
  • Conduct a daily inventory of products on hand
  • Transfer product between tanks as needed
  • Pick up trailer and surrounding areas
  • Fill out paperwork for all jobs
  • Review emails, especially Tankerman Reports to verify credit with boats coming to the dock
  • Ensure all personal are working in a safe manner, if not then demonstrating to them the correct way to approach the situation
  • Must be able to lift and carry >56 lb.
  • Frequently requires bending, stooping, pulling and pushing
  • Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions

Physical and Environmental Conditions

The position is located in an outdoors environment frequent encounters dirt and dust, noise and vibration, fumes and odors and wetness/humidity which at times include extreme heat or cold. May be frequently exposed to mechanical, chemical and electrical hazards. The employee is required to lift 60-80 pounds to waist and carry up to 300 feet with use of hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, knee, crouch, talking and hearing.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Must be able to work shift hours, on nights. 3am to 3pm.

Schedule is 7 days on / 7 days off

Minimum Education, Experience and Certification

  • 1 or more years of experience as a Tankerman.
  • Tankermen must be certified (with a DL endorsement) by the U.S. Coast Guard.
  • Possess a valid, current Merchant Mariners Document with a Tankermans' endorsement for Grade B liquid cargos and under (46 CFR 12.20 et seq.),
  • Current valid driver's license. The Tankerman endorsement applies to vessel's Tankerman exclusively engaged in petroleum or chemical transportation.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • TWIC Card required
  • Clean Driving Record

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively communicate, coordinate, and execute plans according to job orders
  • Must be able to wear all Personal Protective Equipment without restriction and pass a medical examination associated with the use of said PPE.
  • Be able to pass certification requirements of 46 CFR Part 197 Subpart C - Benzene. This applies to vessel Tankerman exclusively engaged in petroleum and/ or chemical transportation
