Dewberry is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2025 to join our New York City office.

Responsibilities

    Duties will include learning basic Autocad skills in order to assist in creating office details and standards.
  • An ideal candidate will assist senior engineers in various tasks such as shop drawing and contractor RFI processing.
  • Other duties include the preparation of mechanical engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, specifications, schedules and budgets for building mechanical and utility distribution systems under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer.
  • The intent is to provide the candidate with a varied exposure to the different engineering disciplines and their duties within a consulting engineering firm.


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering is required.

  • Previous internship experience is preferred.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit a plus.
  • Familiarity with various Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.

Salary Range

*The hourly range for this position is $17.20-$28.20.



Program Information

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.

Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:

  • Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.
  • Learning about our services, projects, and clients.
  • Professional development workshops, including a career planning workshop and a DiSC assessment to learn more about themselves and how to work effectively with others.
  • Summer-long group project where interns work alongside firm leaders to address issues that will impact our future strategy.
