Position Overview:

The FSQA Project Coordinator at Clemens Food Group is responsible for overseeing the implementation and execution of food safety and quality assurance (FSQA) projects and tasks within the department. This role involves supporting various initiatives, conducting audits, and training staff to ensure compliance with FSQA standards and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

Continuous Improvement & Projects:



  • Support capital projects, departmental, and company initiatives (e.g., Sanitation, Animal Welfare, Micro Investigations).
  • Participate in internal audits and respond to post-audit findings with corrective actions.
  • Work closely with plant teams to implement process improvements, monitor preventative and corrective actions, and report compliance.
  • Lead resource for department projects such as SQF Prep, Plant Clean-Up, and Validation Studies.
  • Conduct audits and assessments on the FSQA system.
  • Update, train, and communicate changes to FSQA programs, policies, and SOPs.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Safety Chain at the plant level and manage related documentation.


Training & Continuous Improvements:



  • Create, update, and revise training materials related to FSQA topics (e.g., SOPs, SSOPs, CCPs, GMPs, QACCP).
  • Maintain a training register and schedule for the department, building training tracks for the team.
  • Provide FSQA training to the Clemens Food Group team, including Operations, Trades, and FSQA.
  • Develop and recommend training tools and external vendors to stay current with industry standards.
  • Ensure proper execution of SQF/HACCP/QACCP/PV training.
  • Train FSQA team members to use the Learning Management System and instruct on its functionality and reporting.
  • Identify gaps and resolve inconsistencies in departmental training requirements.


Data Analysis:



  • Track and trend FSQA KPIs to drive improvements.
  • Assess data to drive departmental performance management goals and KPIs.
  • Perform data entry and maintenance, including verification and validation.


Team CFG:



  • Attend FSQA team meetings and participate in Clemens Food Group Leadership classes.
  • Understand FSQA and Ops requirements within established scope and translate them to the floor.
  • Provide training materials for internal and external partners as needed.
  • Be proficient in electronic platforms for the department (e.g., Trace Gains, SAP, Manage Engine).
  • Support and troubleshoot FSQA team needs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to support business needs and provide tactical floor support.

  • Identify system errors and available options for resolution.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, or Business Administration (SDA or FDA experience preferred).
  • Protein experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Multi-task oriented and a team player.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture.
  • Quality attitude with the ability to read and interpret FSQA documents, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Willingness to recognize and respond to new concepts.
