Who You Are:

You are an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in manufacturing, preferably within the food industry, and candidates who have this background will be strongly considered. You have a proven track record of managing and developing engineering teams and extensive experience in strategic planning, capital expenditure (capex) management, and project management. You excel in leading complex engineering projects and maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. You are a strategic thinker who can align engineering practices with organizational goals, and you thrive in a dynamic, multi-facility environment.

What You Will Do:

Strategic Leadership:



  • Direct engineering projects, ensuring best practices and evolving trends.
  • Drive annual and multi-year capital planning initiatives.
  • Lead the capital approval committee and track projects.


Team Leadership:



  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers.
  • Oversee resource allocation and capacity planning.


Systems and Processes:



  • Develop and maintain engineering standards and procedures.
  • Implement project management standards across all facilities.


Capital Projects Management:



  • Oversee the engineering function within the organization for all capital projects.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and industry partners to implement best practices.
  • Lead efforts in automation and labor reduction across the company.
  • Partner with maintenance teams to standardize equipment and processes company-wide.


Engineering Expertise:



  • Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices in engineering by actively seeking out and incorporating new ideas and innovations.
  • Conduct performance assessments, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance engineering operations.


Qualifications:



  • 7+ years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a management role.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing company, preferably in the food industry.
  • Experience in strategy and capital expenditure (capex) planning, with a forward-looking perspective spanning at least 5 years.
  • Experience in project management, preferably with certification or process, evaluating engineering projects.
  • Background in industrial, mechanical, or processing manufacturing.
  • Approximately 15% travel required.
