UMKC IS Support Services Department

Job Description

The UMKC IS Support Services department is looking for an organized, reliable Business Support Specialist who can successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and has the ability to work well with others.

This position will work at the front desk to greet customers and take possession of IT deliveries. They will help place orders, track deliveries, and notify technicians when orders are ready to deploy to customers.

Successful applicants will be proactive, detail oriented, self-starters with strong customer service skills, a willingness to work in a team environment, and a desire to work with new technology products and services. Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Logistics support for incoming deliveries

2. Perform a variety office support activities including ordering supplies, organizing procard statements, and maintaining adequate stock of departmental supplies and equipment.

3. Assist with purchasing, tracking, and maintaining inventory of mobile devices for campus

4. Assist with greeting walk-up customers and directing them to the appropriate help

5. Assist in coordinating campus reimbursement system for computer repairs

6. Organize and support annual IS uniform orders

Shift

8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday

Minimum Qualifications

* Strong customer service skills with a willingness to work in a team environment

* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Must have excellent organizational skills

* Associates degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

* Two years of experience in Information Technology or related field.

Experience in acquisition of IT products and services

Anticipated Hiring Range

Up to $20.00/hr commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
