Cox Communications Hospitality Network Team seeks a dynamic mid-level Network Design Engineer . Joining our HN engineering team, you'll be instrumental in collaborating closely with the sales organization to address new RFPs, while also contributing to the design, development, quoting, testing, and maintenance of hospitality network solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Executes detailed network implementations for new technology and creates network change tickets to prevent unnecessary outages.
  • Partners with Operations and Sustaining Engineering to test and validate functionality of existing and new technologies.
  • Supports implementation of new services, systems, applications, and architectures through installation, configuration, and documentation.
  • Collaborates with vendors to ensure proper equipment installation and operation.
  • Manages intermediate level projects to ensure service delivery stays on target and coordinates with other departments to exceed market demands.
  • Provides technical support, documentation, and post-incident information to ensure network reliability and availability.
  • Perform site assessments and develop proposals that are budget-friendly and aligned with customer needs.
  • Create wireless and wired network designs for medium to large-scale environments.


Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 6 years' experience in a related field
  • Requires working knowledge of transmission, switching, powering, grounding, mechanical, and cabling
  • 1 year of experience operating complex networks and services and translating designs and architecture into operational practice and documentation
  • 1 year of experience troubleshooting and diagnostics capabilities (e.g., Documented Methods and Procedures, documented outage restorations)
  • Experience in Ekahau wireless design software
  • Experience in Cisco and Aruba products
  • Ability to work in 24/7 environment and on-call as required
  • This position requires up to 75% travel


Preferred:

  • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e., Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical degree)
  • Certifications: NRS II, CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA
  • Experience in telecommunications industry desired - preferably 3-5 years operating in a tiered level technical service assurance and/or service implementation environment
  • Experience leading projects to enhance the network capability for existing and future services
  • Participation in SCTE and related certifications.


USD 77,800.00 - 116,800.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $77,800.00 - $116,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:
