We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Reservoir Engineer in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Business Unit based in Houston, Texas.




  • Develop, optimize, and deliver Field Development Plans (FDPs) for core Permian EOR assets to meet business needs.
  • Focus on undeveloped EOR opportunities and develop injection/production streams for assigned FDP asset.
  • Work in conjunction with other disciplines within the Development and Asset teams to conduct detailed lookbacks on historical CO2 flood performance.
  • Conduct technical studies for performance improvement of CO2 floods in FDP areas
  • Perform subsurface studies and propose pilots (as needed) to evaluate feasibility CO2 EOR in challenging reservoirs synergistic to core FDP areas
  • Generate production and CO2 injection forecasts for using industry accepted techniques in support of annual business plan and reserves cycle process for FDP projects. Conduct complex economic evaluations using detailed technical work.
  • Prepare detailed technical memos, recommendations, reports, and presentations and deliver the same to peers, management and large groups in support for FDP projects. Conduct complex economic evaluations using detailed technical work.
  • Frequently share best practices within BU and participate in peer assist groups.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering or related engineering discipline

Experience: Minimum of 5+ years reservoir engineering experience

Skills & Competencies:



  • Previous experience in waterflood and CO2 flood surveillance, forecasting, and project development required
  • Proficiency in reservoir management and development practices including material balance, field development planning, reservoir surveillance, reservoir performance modeling and production forecasting
  • Demonstrated results in improving the profitability of oil and gas fields using reservoir analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to forecast reserves using multiple techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of petroleum economic theory (PEEP experience preferred)
  • Has excellent teamwork skills, prepares and effectively delivers detailed technical presentations to co-workers, partners and management.
  • Action oriented, works proactively and is results driven, has the ability to accomplish goals on time.
  • Ability to make sound technical and economic decisions and recommendation requiring significant judgement.
  • Familiarity with industry software applications used in reservoir engineering.
