THE ROLE:

We are seeking a seasoned system solution leader with experience driving the system development process to align engineering requirements with business goals. You have had significant success driving OEM roadmap requirements to balance system capabilities, cost, and complexity across portfolio market segment, branding, and pricing stratification to deliver best in class products. This senior role will stretch you as you lead architecture teams in new directions, network with our world-class, patent-holding think-tank, and negotiate amongst design teams, marketing, and business unit executives.

THE PERSON:

You are highly adept at collaborating with and influencing business and engineering minds alike, ready to mentor and guide, and help to elevate the knowledge and skills of the team around you. You are able to synthesize perspectives across business and engineering teams, and define innovative solutions. You have excellent communication and presentation skills, demonstrated through presentations, trainings, executive briefings, etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aggregate system requirements through communication with customers, business leaders, and engineering leaders
  • Analyze competitive in-market system solutions
  • Define system requirements by market segment and price focusing on high level experiences and features
  • Align and collaborate with engineering teams to close architecture requirements, drive technical specifications for subsystems, SoC and IP blocks to meet those requirements, and provide technical direction to execution teams
  • Comprehend the complete system solution which includes system hardware, system firmware, system software, and ensure that FW, BIOS & SW are aligned
  • Work cross functionally with domain architects to identify and assess complex technical issues/risks and develop architectural solutions to achieve product requirements
  • Knowledge sharing and other contributions to platform & SoC architecture

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years foundation in OEM systems architecture strategy with expertise in: system hardware, system software, system architecture, ID, supply chain, cost, and quality
  • Experience analyzing system-level performance, power, thermals, and user experience for bottlenecks and optimizations in system level requirements, definition, and architecture
  • Demonstrated expertise in defining engineering requirements to align with portfolio market segment, branding, and pricing stratification
  • Excellent communication, management, and presentation skills.
  • Adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and senior architects with strong interpersonal skills to work across teams in different geographies

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in related discipline preferred

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
