The Zimmerli Art Museum is seeking a Graduate Student enrolled in a program at Rutgers University-New Brunswick to support the museum's efforts to increase accessibility for the major special exhibition Smoke & Mirrors and associated public programs.
Some of the key duties for this role include:

  • Collaborate with Zimmerli staff to review accessibility implementation for Smoke & Mirrors. Participate in assessing needs, surveying standards, and implementing accessibility for visual and audio content in the exhibition.
  • Participate and lead staff training for accessibility. Create and lead training sessions for staff, student gallery attendants, and student educators
  • Collaborate with Zimmerli staff to review accessibility implementation for public programs related to the exhibition. Participate in assessing needs, surveying standards, and implementing accessibility for visual and audio content in the programs, including ASL and CART

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a related field

Graduate student enrolled in a program at Rutgers-New Brunswick during the 2024-25 academic year.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Sophisticated knowledge of accessibility standards in art museums and prior experience working in these contexts to advance access for visitors with disabilities
