Description
The Community Affairs Department within the Child Health Advocacy Institute at Children's National elevates community health needs and community benefit, facilitates partnerships between the health care system and our community, and works across sectors to address policy and system issues to improve health equity for all children. We accomplish this through the following strategies: 1) Lead and collaborate on community health improvement efforts through programs, partnerships, policies, and system changes that address community health needs and 2) Evaluate and communicate the impact of community health improvement efforts. The Program Coordinator will work on a multitude of programs within the Community Affairs Department. This position will primarily focus on the Community Benefit program including but not limited to development and implementation of education and communication plans, data collection, and entry, analysis and report development and creation of the Community Benefit Report. This individual will support the Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan efforts. This position will also have responsibility to support internal and external advocacy efforts and community education outreach programs. This individual will also be asked to support additional programs and activities related to Community Affairs. As a member of the Community Affairs staff, the employee will act as a resource to CNH departments and staff to cultivate relationships and services in the community, and will increase the visibility and participation of the CNH community affairs team in the Washington, DC metropolitan healthcare communities. Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree In related field preferred (e.g., public health, public policy , psychology , education) (Required) Minimum Work Experience 3 years Experience working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge Knowledge of community-based and healthcare service delivery systems Ability to think creatively and strategically Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Ability to multi-task and work pro-actively and independently within a fast-paced, dynamic setting Skill working with culturally diverse patient, staff and community populations Strong understanding of program evaluation methodologies Strong organizational and project management skills Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data analysis and statistical software.
