Job Description

The role is to serve in a timely delivery of food and beverages to the guests. To possess comprehensive knowledge of menus, beverage items, food descriptions, and recipes, including awareness of dietary restrictions. The role is to set up and stock the service station, handle sales at the bar, and assist as food server for table service within the section, while ensuring total guest satisfaction. To be of service and ensure a consistent, correct and quality presentation for all food and beverage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment
  • Prepare all coffee, espresso, juice bar drinks ordered while maintaining high productivity levels
  • Maintain accurate department signage and pricing
  • Manage transactions with customers using POS system
  • Maintain back stock in good order
  • May assist with bartender duties when required
  • Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner
  • Sweep floors between guests and service accordingly
  • Clean up spills and debris off the floor during and between service
  • Discard trash to appropriate location
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the station and the workspace
  • Ensure standards are respected with regards to plate presentation
  • Expedite food orders when necessary
  • Support and assist Chefs and Managers
  • Control costs and waste
  • Be proactive by assisting co-workers
  • Be familiar with all menu items and aspects and services of the property
  • Clear excess dishes on counter to maintain clean and orderly appearance
  • Exceed guest's expectations
  • Maintain LQA/Forbes 5* standards of service
  • Comply with liquor laws
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Must have minimum one year of customer service experience
  • Must have exceptional organizational qualities (skills)
  • Must have friendly, helpful, engaging manner
  • Successful completion of Barista training position
  • Must Pass Food, Beverage and Service Knowledge Quizzes and Skill tests
  • Able to read, write, and speak English at advanced level to facilitate communications
  • Cash handling skills are necessary
  • Basic math skills
  • Able to use good judgment
  • Able to communicate clearly and listen attentively to guests, management and co-workers
  • Able to obtain food Handler's Certification
  • Able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays
