Description: NSI requires a skilled Government Contractor Proposal Writer to support our Business Development Team. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in writing and managing government proposals, particularly in the defense sector. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing remote work with regular in-office collaboration at our Lexington Park, MD location. This position demands strong writing, organizational, and communication skills to produce high-quality, compelling proposals that meet government requirements and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead Develop, write, and edit comprehensive and compliant government proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and other solicitation documents. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, project managers, and technical staff, to gather necessary information and ensure proposals are accurate and compelling. - Analyze RFP requirements and create proposal outlines and compliance matrices to guide the proposal development process. - Manage proposal schedules, ensuring all milestones are met and deliverables are submitted on time. - Conduct thorough reviews and edits of proposal content to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with solicitation requirements. - Coordinate and participate in proposal review and debriefs, incorporating feedback to improve future proposals. - Maintain proposal templates, boilerplate text, and standard content to streamline the proposal writing process. - Stay current with industry trends, government contracting regulations, and best practices in proposal writing. Location: Lexington Park, MD/Hybrid Education: BS or BA degree in English, Communications, Business, or related field preferred. Experience: At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience in government proposal writing, preferably within the defense industry. Proven track record of successfully managing and writing winning proposals for government contracts. Strong understanding of government contracting processes and regulations, including FAR and DFARS. Desired Experience: Experience with DoD Acquisition, NAVAIR Logistics, NAVAIR Engineering, NAVAIR Acquisition, NAVAIR Cyber/IT. Skills: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proposal management software. - Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Security Clearance: Secret Clearance desired but not required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
