Function:

Finance & Accounting Job Summary:The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is primarily responsible for the preparation and review of the Company's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings and will be a vital resource in accounting and reporting for some of CF's most interesting accounting areas. Serves as a key contributor to determine the appropriate accounting treatment and required disclosure related to significant unusual transactions. This role will provide a candidate the opportunity to problem solve, recommend solutions and help drive process changes as CF continues to develop and evolve into the future. Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures for external issuance in compliance with the accounting and reporting requirements of the SEC and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).

  • Serve as the key contact and subject matter expert for a technical accounting area in the financial reporting group over an area such as stock compensation, EPS, leases, asset retirement obligations, revenue recognition, pensions and post-retirement benefits, or natural gas derivatives, including preparing any related journal entries, reconciliations, and 10-Q and 10-K disclosures.

  • Assist in other technical accounting areas and reporting functions of the financial reporting department, which may include benefit plan audits, asset fair value testing, providing support to the Investor Relations team, including the accounting review of the quarterly earnings releases, investor presentations and investor call scripts, and other accounting-related projects as they arise.

  • Serve as a technical accounting resource in the review and evaluation of extraordinary and atypical business transactions, or new SEC rules and accounting standards updates, to determine the appropriate accounting and external reporting treatment.

Successful incumbents will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

  • Must have CPA certification or be an eligible/active CPA candidate

  • Technical knowledge in accounting and internal controls: must possess a solid degree of technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting.

  • 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience in private industry, including experience in technical accounting and/or financial reporting. Some experience in public accounting is preferred.

  • Knowledge of FASB and SEC rules and regulations, and the ability to apply business and financial concepts.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Workiva and SAP experience are a plus.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

An individual in this position will participate as a member of the Financial Reporting team with the purpose of assisting the Company in anticipating and responding to changing and increasingly complex public company accounting and reporting requirements.
